Mother /Maxim Gorky

Mother is a 1906 novel by Russian writer Maxim Gorky that depicts a woman's transformation from an abused wife to a devoted revolutionary. Written after the failed Russian Revolution of 1905, the book was intended to boost morale among the working class and became a cornerstone of socialist realism, the official Soviet literary style.
